Government bursaries

Qualification Sponsored:
- Anthropology and preferably Postgraduates specialising in Forensics
- Archaeology and preferably Postgraduates specialising in Bioarchaeology
- Geography and Geomatic sciences and preferably Postgraduates specialising in Cartography and GIS
- Archives and Records management
- Library and Information sciences
- Conservation of the built environment including preventive conservation (this includes only a field of study and not a course/subject of study) (Postgrads specialising in Conservation)
- Heritage and Museum studies
- Palaeontology
- IKS or Courses that contribute to the preservation and promotion of Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS) and S.A. Living Heritage
- History
- Digitisation of heritage resources
Requirements:
- South African citizenship
- Not older than forty (40) years
- Outstanding / satisfactory academic performance
- Field of study (Heritage related)
- Not employed full time by government, state agencies or private sector with a salary of more than R130 000
- Students that are beneficiaries of other bursaries will not qualify to receive the bursary

- Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education (B. Ed. ECCE) for ECD Grade RR- R
- Bachelor of Education degree (B.Ed.), specialising in one of the following: Foundation Phase (Grade R – 3), Intermediate Phase (Grade 4 – 6) and Senior and Further Education and Training Teaching (Grade 7-12).
Requirements:
South African citizens not older than 30 years for fist-time applicants
Eligibility:
All applicants are advised to check their record as follows:
- (a) at South African Police Services (SAPS) (any police station) check for police clearance records (PCR) which is a fingerprint report.
- (b) Department of Justice and Correctional Services (DoJCS) to confirm that you are not in the National Register for Sexual Offenders (NSRO)
- (c) Department of Social Development (DSD) to check if you do not appear on their National Register for Child Offenders. Should your name appear on one of the three records, meaning you do have a criminal record, if the offence is more than ten years old, you can apply for expungement from DoJCS.
